Nov. 11, 2011: Teamed with Ennead, we kicked off an energetic Programming and Conceptual Design phase for a 37,300 s.f. addition and 112,166 s.f. renovation to the existing Eero Saarinen classic beauty. Completion expected August 2015.

Detroit Medical Center Pediatric Specialty Center

October 1, 2010: Children’s Hospital of Detroit’s only new building in 30 years, IDS partnered with Shepley Bulfinch to design this free-standing 106,550 s.f. facility in the heart of the City. Opened to much fanfare in June 2012, it has surpassed every parent’s dream of providing the best care for their children.

UM East Quad Renovations

September 2, 2010: The third successful association between IDS and Hanbury Evans Wright Vlattas, we were excited to begin planning this renovation and upgrade to their Residential Community, as the building had an unspoken quirkiness about it and was loved by its students and staff. Opened in August 2013 to much excitement from the students – past and incoming.

IDS Corporate Moves to Current Location

April 2010: When IDS outgrew their corporate offices, they had the ultimate challenge to breakdown age-old departmental barriers and create team-oriented space. The result is a collaborative focused workplace.

November 16, 2009 – IDS celebrates 10 years

First High School Learn Lab

August 2009: IDS used the Learn Lab Model to design a new classroom for Holly Area Schools. Holly High School was the first school in the country to introduce the Learn Lab, a collaborative, innovative, interactive and technology-enhanced classroom.

UM Couzens Residence Hall Renovations

March 31, 2009: Commissioned with Hanbury Evans Wright Vlattas for the University of Michigan Couzens Residence Hall Renovations

MSU Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum

March 9, 2009: MSU organized a competition for the Museum, selecting international partner Zaha Hadid Architects in 2008. Soon after, IDS was commissioned as the local architect. The museum was completed in November 2012.
