Introducing the Next Generation of Patient Care

IDS attended the Michigan Medicine Clinical Inpatient Tower ground breaking ceremony on Friday, October 25, 2019. University of Michigan, Michigan Medicine and State of Michigan leadership were in attendance to celebrate this cutting edge facility, scheduled to open in mid-2024.

The new 12-story hospital will house 264 private rooms capable of converting to intensive care, a state-of-the-art neurological and neurosurgical center, high-level, specialty care services for cardiovascular and thoracic patients, along with advanced imaging. Locating these services together will enable healthcare providers to quickly respond to complex cases and deliver state-of-the-art treatments.

At 690,000-gross-square-feet, the building will provide more access to care for adult patients at Michigan Medicine, where current hospital facilities often operate at more than 90% capacity.
