University Hospital 8D ICU

IDS helped Michigan Medicine increase their Intensive Care Unit bed count by completely renovating an existing 12-bed sleep lab on Level 8 of University Hospital into a new 20-bed ICU suite.  Additionally, seven Patient Treatment Beds on Level 7 below the 8th floor ICU were renovated.  The existing exterior wall insulation and thermal barriers were updated during construction.  Supporting spaces including offices, conference space, nurse stations, staff locker rooms, workrooms, storage space and family waiting areas were created along with the 20 ICU beds.  IDS provided full architectural and engineering services, including construction administration.
