Integrated Design Solutions is proud to announce that Michigan State University’s Broad Art Museum has won an American Institute of Steel Construction 2014 IDEAS2 Award in the $15 Million to $75 Million Category.
On August 5th, Oxford voters will have the opportunity to approve construction of a recreation facility that meets the health and wellness needs of the youth, adults and seniors in the tranquil setting of Stony Lake Township Park. Currently, Stony Lake Township Park is only open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The proposed design will keep the park open year round, maximizing the park’s benefits by creating opportunities for year round recreation. Building at the park will expand the Township infrastructure including water mains, sanitary sewer and completion of the safety path!
Based on need, the center will include appropriate spaces that are currently unavailable in Oxford. It will enhance current OTP&R programs and provide new offerings for all ages. Some features of the new health and wellness center will include an aquatics area, fitness center, indoor track, multi-activity courts, senior lifestyle center, community rooms and more. The center will provide new and enhanced opportunities for families, kids and teens including swimming lessons, daytime activities, pool parties, martial arts and a place to celebrate snow days! A Community Recreation Center offers recreational opportunities that foster community & create lasting memories.
Did you know a family fitness club membership can cost in excess of $130 per month? Community resident memberships will be available for families and single adults at a cost of less than $1 per day, that’s about 1/4th of the cost for a lot more activities. Best of all, the center is planned so that Oxford resident seniors over 65 will be free!
“As a senior resident of Oxford, a community center would allow for activities close to home. Those wishing to participate in yoga, pickleball, cards, water aerobics etc., are compelled to travel outside Oxford. Currently, a centralized location in our community is unavailable.”

If approved, funds from a 25 year bond of 1.6 mills will be used to construct the center. Annual Memberships will pay to operate and maintain the building. It is a standard practice to use memberships for funding the operation of Community Centers. A professional analysis has been done to ensure financial success of the Center for many years to come.

It’s heavily used by both residents and non-residents, and primarily funded by user and rental fees. The center has been a wonderful thing for our community. Integrated Design Solutions designed a state-of-the-art two story 66,000-square-foot data center and office complex located at 1401 Rosa Parks Boulevard in Detroit’s up-and-coming Corktown district.
